I agree with your opinion on abortion, as do many of my friends. So don't say "everyone" is against abortion or judging you. And as of right now, the law agrees with you. However, your statement "The current statistics show 1 in 4 women will have an abortion. So some of you are obviously acting all anti, but have done it yourself" is a generalization. Where did you get the statistic? It may not be from a reliable source. And just because 1 in 4 women have had one, that does not mean they are the pro-lifers. There is still a majority of women (according to your possibly incorrect statistic) that have not had an abortion.

ABORTION In Catholic morality, abortion is either direct (induced) or indirect. Direct abortion is any destruction of the product of human conception, whether before or after implantation in the womb. A direct abortion is one that is intended either as an end in itself or as a means to an end. As a willful attack on unborn human life, no matter what the motive, direct abortion is always a grave objective evil. Indirect abortion is the foreseen but merely permitted evacuation of a fetus which cannot survive outside the womb. The evacuation is not the intended or directly willed result, but the side effect, of some legitimate procedure. As such it is morally allowable. The essential sinfulness of direct abortion consists in the homicidal intent to kill innocent life. This factor places the controverted question as to precisely when human life begins, outside the ambit of the moral issue- as it also makes the now commonly held Catholic position that human life begins at conception equally outside the heart of the church's teaching about the grave sinfulness of direct abortion. Abortion has been condemned by the Church since apostolic times. The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, composed before A.D. 100, told the faithful "You shall not procure abortion. You shall not destroy a newborn child" (II, 2). Direct abortion and infanticide were from the beginning placed on the same level of malice. Hundreds of ecclesiastical documents from the first century through to the present testify to the same moral doctrine, with such nuances as time, place, and circumstances indicated. The Second Vatican Council declared: "Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception," so that "abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes" (Constitution on the Church in the Modern World, IV, 51). Pope Paul VI confirmed this teaching in 1974. "Respect for human life,' he wrote, "is called for from the time that the process of generation begins. From the time that the ovum is fertilized, a life is begun which is neither that of the father nor of the mother. It is rather the life of a new human being with its own growth. It would never be made human if it were not human already." Consequently, "divine law and natural reason exclude all right to the direct killing of an innocent human being" (Declaration on Procured Abortion, III, 12).

Read Carefully: FACT: the essential blood circulatory system and heart, are created in the first 7-10 days, and that is a sign of life, and abortion IS "killing a life" which is inhumane and cruel. Abortion has heavy side effects, aside causing stress, it can cause indirectly breast cancer, vaginal cancer etc.. Abortion also can be considered a legal crime in section of "self inflecting" Religion point of view states: that you have no right to take a life if you can't create a life. ( since life is god given ) the life of a fetus is not your own to decide to kill as you please- don't try and relate that if it's inside you and dependent on you doesn't mean it's part of you. don't abuse the fact that your child or fetus is very weak and can't make a stand of it's own survival yet. "The quotes above are collected from many experienced adult mothers whom I addressed with your question :)"

because that baby has a beating heart. if your responsible enough to have sex then yoru responsible enough to deal with the consequences. Abortion is cruel and disgusting quite frankly, Lazy people who cant be bothered to go buy a condom and would rather get pregnant and kill that little baby. Abortion may be 'free' but you google 'what really happens in abortion' and it will tell you that the babys little fragile limbs are slowly crushed down and destroyed. Everyone deserves a chance to live.

do a little common sense thinking... $1 condom vs $1000 abortion.... further, if yorje 'too stupid to protect yourself agains getting pregnant when youre not ready, youre too stupid to be responsible for a child and probalby too stupid to earn the money for the abortion. there are plenty of people who want kids who cant have them, adoption should be part of any deision like this. abortion isn't free, it's just that you dont pay for it, silly child. also, it's people exaclty like you who think it's perfectly acceptable to have an abortion yet scream bloody murder over circumcision. typical hyposcrisy from the "tolerant party".

"everyone choosing to judge me" ......isn't it great, that we all have the right to CHOOSE? You choose to convince yourself that abortion is ok, and others choose to judge you for it....because we are all given the right to choose. You want your choice, let others have the right to theirs. It's your choice, no one else's...so why should you care what others choose to think of that choice....just sayin

Why so many abortions?
I am sorry to hear about your loss. I know what you are going through I had a m/c at 16 weeks. And I needed a D&C. I never got the chance to hold my baby. I am pro choice because I can't tell someone else what is right or wrong for them. I can only control what happens in my life. Yes it is...

Catholics-Why do they want to make their "laws" everyone's laws?
Ever hear of the saying "One swallow the summer doesn't make"? Seems more of a political thing to me. However, how come you missed all the stuff about the CAIR wanting the Shari'a here? Does seem a li'l bit of "selective sight", doesn't it? Peace. ST PS, What about their having tax funded...

The same reason fundamentalists have the highest rate of divorce. http://www.adherents.com/largecom/baptis... Maddoc- she says those are RATES not percentages. Have you taken stats? That's usually rate per 1000, which makes it a comparable stat.

Late term abortion...?
Way to potentially start a yahoo war with a question abor abortion! : ) Nobody every wants a late term abortion. Nobody ever wants an abortion, period. 6 weeks, 14 weeks, 22 weeks, whatever. It is never an easy decision. It is so very, very sad. However, in my eyes, it is necessary to have...

Since 25-40% of all pregnancies end in "spontaneous abortion," what does that say about God?
(I've heard higher percentages quoted. Up to 50%, perhaps more!) It doesn't say anything about God, it only speaks of our imperfect knowledge of God. Fundamentalist Christians believe life begins when the sperm hits the egg. The whole abortion debate is based on that 'fact'. But it's not...
