Sounds like you had a D & C. That is an abbreviation of a medical procedure known as Dilation and Curettage, which is the scraping of the lining of the uterus. It is frequently done after miscarriage. “Dilation and Evacuation (D&E)” on the other hand...Definition: An abortion method used between 13 and 18 weeks (sometimes up until 20) of pregnancy. The cervix is dilated and fetal and placental tissue is drawn out by suction. A curette is inserted into the uterus to remove any remaining fetal tissue. A general anesthetic is usual, and the procedure is performed in a hospital or surgical clinic.

This Site Might Help You. RE: Which one is considered an Abortion? a D&C or a D&E? I answered a D&C question earlier and this sparked my curiosity. I remember with my first pregnancy I had a Miscarriage at 12 weeks and my body was not getting rid of everything it should and it caused an infection. I remember the nurses who treated me like crap because they thought i was some...

I dont even know what D&C or D&E mean but I see people ask about them on here and stuff. Sorry about your miscarriage. The nurses should not treat you badly for that. 1) It wasn't you fault 2) It's a loss to you 3) It's terrible no matter what your age.

D&C stands for dilatation and curette- translated opening and scraping. These can either be for medical (mother has to) or elective (mother wants to) reasons. The procedure is exactly the same to my knowledge. Sounds like those nurses were in the wrong profession and downright rude to their patient. I haven't heard the term D&E before sorry!

I'm not sure about a d and e. I know for sure a D&C is for miscarriages and other feminine problems of the sort. I would just ignore the nurses, or report them to their boss. That's very rude of them...but it's non of their business one way or the other.

Has anyone had a medical abortion? (early option pill)?
While I've never taken the abortion pill, or even known anyone who had, I have heard that it is similar to a natural miscarriage. I had a miscarriage last year, and it was painful... Contraction like cramps, heavy bleeding, loss of the pregnancy tissue (which comes out as big clots and is very...

Given that abortion was prevalent in Jesus' time, why are fundamentalists against abortion?
Catholics are also against this terrible act. Abortion is the ejection of an immature and non-viable foetus from the womb. Where this happens naturally there can be no grounds for any sort of moral judgement. Where the abortion is 'procured' (done directly or caused to happen) the Church...
