What are the bad things about abortion?

Just so you know . . . . Abortion are safe - 12x safer than childbirth and there is NO proof that abortion is a threat to a women's mental health. The bottom line is that when an abortion has been conducted- legally, safely, professionally and providing there are no complications arising from it, there is no significant risk to the future fertility of the woman involved. Some studies have shown a small increase in the risk of having a miscarriage or pre-term delivery in a future pregnancy following an abortion. This is usually caused by cervical incompetence (the cervix being unable to close tightly during pregnancy). The risk of cervical incompetence does increase according to the number of abortion procedures undertaken. However, a properly performed abortion will not affect the woman’s fertility. http://www.fertilityfacts.org/abortion-i... APA TASK FORCE FINDS SINGLE ABORTION NOT A THREAT TO WOMEN'S MENTAL HEALTH There is no credible evidence that a single elective abortion of an unwanted pregnancy in and of itself causes mental health problems for adult women, according to a draft report released Tuesday by a task force of the American Psychological Association. http://www.apa.org/releases/abortion-rep... ~Pro-Choice Momma- Have had an abortion and I have a 10 month old daughter . I researched it on WebMd. If you are asking for more than passing interest please go there for the full medical story. Here is the exact page for what complications to look for after one has had an abortion. http://women.webmd.com/tc/abortion-befor... Besides that medical stuff there may be emotional distress one will face. If overwhelmed with feelings within the first couple of weeks one should see their doctor right away. I would say even after get some help from them or a counselor. I did not answer this question with the obvious loss of life issue which saddens me, rather from the point of view of what about after. Women, being the emotional beings they are ( and I mean this with all due love and respect for women) are very nurturing and feeling people. It makes me very puzzled about why some choose abortion when not medically necessary to save the mother, But that is just me not my judgment of them and their decision.

It's an operation. Operations always carry the risk of infection and other complications. (Still, it's a lot safer than childbirth. See link.) Abortions are emotionally stressful, especially in social circles where women are told that they are bad people and 'baby-killers' if they have an abortion.

1. You are ending a life 2. You are playing 'God' by deciding who lives and who dies. 3. It can be extremely traumatic for mothers, some think of their babies in years to come and wonder about what it could have been like. 4. The father has no rights, so it might take away the chance for someone to be a dad. There are probably loads more so you could try googling it :)

Besides the fact that you're killing a baby who never asked to be conceived in the first place, there are severe life long emotional issues you could face, you could get a bad infection, or worse, die on the operation table if you go to the wrong place, you could be rendered sterile and never be able to have babies.. there are so many bad things. There are other options.

Physically: -Pain. The procedure itself is scary and painful. There's a horrible vacuum involved. Emotionally: -You regret it every day of your life. You see little babies and think how horrible you are. You look at your own child and think you murdered his brother or sister. How could you have killed something that you knew you would have loved with all your heart.

Killing a human being, not giving them an oppurtunity at life, being selfish. If you don't want a kid, have it and give it up for adoption. Having an abortion is a lot more painful, physically and mentally then having the kid, anyway. Go to the following links, and then you won't want to even think about abortions. http://highschool.caminonuevo.org/Studen... http://www.johnsimpson.ca/images/2008041... http://www.geocities.com/sensible01/abor... http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/subjects/a/abortion/index.html

You are stopping a not even yet baby from living.
