Partial abortion debate?!?

Partial abortion debate?!?

Partial abortion debate?!?

I think a lot of people who aren't pro choice are too young to understand. Would you like to bring a child into an abusive household that didn't want them in the first place? with the parents putting all the regret of their lost lives at the fault of the child? Obviously not every family would be like this but it is a very real possibility. And the amount of children going up for adoption is crazy. And many foster homes are unstable and quite disturbing by some of the stories i've heard (again, not on the whole, i have also heard of foster families that have been great) But it is a big choice to have a family and know you are mature enough to look after a child, and that's what it should be, a choice.

Sorry im confused as to whether you mean thats the argument you're taking or thats just how you personally feel. if you need something for "for" debate : then i'd take a legal stance and say, according to the law, well atleast british law, a human being is only counted as alive when it can live seperate from the mother. Therfore until the cord is cut it is not a person and cannot be murdered. An against argument is easy enough, it has developed organs, so is like killing a person. A religious stance: Life form was created by god, doctors and pregnant woman should not have the right to take it away. It has risks to physical and mental health.

Q: What do obstetricians say about Partial Birth Abortion? A: The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) said, “The intervention of legislative bodies into medical decision making is inappropriate, ill-advised, and dangerous.” The term "partial-birth abortion" is primarily used in political discourse — chiefly regarding the legality of abortion in the United States.[18] The term is not recognized as a medical term by the American Medical Association[6] nor the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.[19] This term was first suggested in 1995 by Congressman Charles T. Canady, while developing the original proposed Partial-Birth Abortion Ban.[20][21] According to Keri Folmar, the lawyer responsible for the bill's language, the term was developed in early 1995 in a meeting among herself, Charles T. Canady, and National Right to Life Committee lobbyist Douglas Johnson.[14] Canady could not find this particular abortion practice named in any medical textbook, and therefore he and his aides named it.[22] "Partial-birth abortion" was first used in the media on 4 June 1995 in a Washington Times article covering the bill.[23] Some more FACTS about Intact Dilations and Extraction My Turn: I Had That Now-Banned Abortion I needed that now-banned procedure known as ‘partial-birth’ abortion. Why the Supreme Court’s decision to outlaw it was a dark day for American women. My health and future fertility depended on the best available medical care, which in this case meant that I needed the intact dilation and evacuation procedure, or “partial-birth abortion” to use the non-medical, ideological term. This wrongly politicized, legitimate and standard medical procedure results in the removal of the fetus with the least probing and instrumentation, greatly reducing the risk to the woman of bleeding, infection and uterine rupture, all of which may lead to infertility. The Supreme Court decision means that judges and lawmakers may now dictate to doctors what they can and cannot do in the operating room. It means that surgeons who want to do what’s best for their patients do so now at the risk of criminal prosecution. And it means that thousands of women will undergo second-best procedures carrying greater risk- many will face dire health consequences, as well as the loss of future fertility. We are now in a country where judges and lawmakers are allowed to tell doctors how best to care for their patients. This cannot stand. Research it and you will see that this type of abortion is used for less than 1% of all abortions in the US and it is ONLY used to save a woman's life, so why are you against that? It is entirely possible to have an abortion and not feel guilt because you knew it was the right thing to do. Real stories of women and their abortions. ~Pro-Choice Momma- Have had an abortion and I have a 9 month old daughter . I believe in protecting my daughter's choice. Abortion: There is a Consensus EDIT - Can't handle the truth about Intact Dilations and Extractions ? Whatever~ If you wanna get your panties in a twist over something that happens in less than 1% of all abortions, honestly that's your problem. If this debate is for school then you may want to try and locate some actaul FACTS before you make an @ss out of yourself in front of the entire class.

I'm completely Pro Choice! And I personally have had an abortion. So sorry! Also really schools should not be using abortion as a debate topic. It is a very sensitive topic. And I really believe most schools have more class then to make it an assignment.

MY OPINION: Even if you're raped its not the baby's fault so why is it ok to kill a baby that had no influence on how it was made. Ok it's your body but it dosn't give you a right to kill a innocent baby. "according to the law its not considered a human being"? really...well check a aborted fetuse's DNA its going to say its a human for its a human being. If you're not ready to take care of a baby dont have sex. Simple

I'm pro-choice, to an extent. I think that if you have an abortion before its heart starts beating (before about 6 weeks old), then it's fine. But after that, I find it pretty cruel, although I'm not one to judge...

I'm only for abortion if the woman has been raped or if having the child risks her life BUT I am NOT for people who intentionally had sex and then kill the baby. They are being selfish and it makes me sick when people do that stuff. Start it off by saying something like "abortion is a heated and controversial topic..blah blah blah...(sorry I am HORRIBLE at writing essays)

start it off with a sad story that will get the audience interested

there are so many anti abortion websites online, they'll have enough info!
